- Network Fluctuation: It’s been a difficult task for BSNL to maintain a stable network if you live near bustling public places such as malls or parks, another reason is that network fluctuations are likely due to the rapidly changing number of users.
- Additional Tower Set-Up: In the demanding face of the 5G network, BSNL continuously adds extra tower set-ups in demanding regions to resolve these issues.
- BSNL decided to stop its 3G services in most of the states and they are set up and expanding its new 4G towers to experience their customer BSNL 4G network. this is one of the main reasons behind the network issue.
- Technical Problems: Technical common issues such as network interference and spectrum shifts are caused due to external factors like electric poles, which can also impact BSNL’s network performance.
- Device Issue: Problems related to your smartphone can also be the main cause of network issues.
- Due to Spectrum Allocation: A primary factor that affects the BSNL network is spectrum allocation because BSNL operates in two bands, 700 MHz and 2100 MHz.

1. BSNL Call Drop Issue
Many of the BSNL users facing a Call drop issue as recorded by the previous year till January 2025. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited official has stated that BSNL has been working aggressively to resolve call drop issues, call mute problems, and other calling-related problems.
BSNL also knows that most of its customers leave because of call drops and poor quality. BSNL is working hard to fix these network problems. BSNL’s user migration has slowed down due to network issues. By July 2024, 0.31 million users left dropping to 0.26 million in August, 0.28 million in September, and rising 0.51 million in October.
According to TRAI, BSNL has the worst network among major telcos. Call drops for MTNL were at 7.23%, while other providers like RJIL had rates below 0.25% in Delhi.
To get rid of this kind of network problem, BSNL has decided to expand its 4G services for its customers in districts of the state to enhance its telecom services.
How to Fix Call Drop Issue?

- Check Network Setting: Make sure your device has a proper network or set it to the appropriate network mode that your BSNL SIM supports.
- Restart Your Device: Sometimes restarting your device can solve all the network glitches.
- Location: Ensure your location has proper network connectivity otherwise, move to a higher location where signal strength is stronger.
- SIM Upgrade: Recently BSNL stopped its 3G services and upgraded 4G towers, so this is the main cause then upgrading your sim to 4G provides you better connectivity.

2. Network Outages Problem
Most of the BSNL users faced network outages on 1st January 2025, interrupting services in most regions like Nagpur, Kolkata, and others. Many other users report signal issues, blackouts, and internet problems. Approximately a total of 172 customers were reported on BSNL and other social platforms about this issue.
According to reports, 62% of the users faced signal issues, 32% reported total blackout services, and 6% with mobile internet. This all happened due to BSNL setting up their network to 4G. Some of the potential reasons behind network outages are: Outdated infrastructure, Maintenance activities, Weather Conditions, and Technical Faults.

How to Fix Network Outages Problem?
To address BSNL Network Outages, you just need to remember the following:
- Check Signal Strength: Go to your phone settings and check your signal bars to check your signal strength.
- Verify SIM card Details: Ensure your SIM card is active and has a validity recharge.
- Restart Your Phone: Restart your phone if you’re not getting a proper signal in your device because sometimes restarting may solve the network issue.
- Update Network Setting: Check whether for available network updates on your phone and update it immediately.
- Check for Network Congestion: If a large number of people use the same network in your area, you may face slow-down network issues.
- Contact BSNL Customer Service: Contact a customer care representative and report network outage problems through the BSNL helpline number: 1800-180-153.
- Check For Local Network Issues: Ask nearby BSNL users or check online for updates on network problems in your area.
3. BSNL 4G Network Problem
BSNL has upgraded its 4G services across the country for its users. If the BSNL 4G services are enabled in your area and you are facing while connecting to 4G, know why?
BSNL has a plan to upgrade its 4G network across the country and decided to install 1 Lakh mobile towers for 4G services across the country. However, some of the users are still unable to access the 4G network, one of the main reasons behind this is their smartphones.
Because BSNL has received 700MHz & 2100MHz spectrum bands for its 4G services. BSNL will initially launch 4G using these bands, while the 2100MHz band has limited capacity, which may lead to network problems, whereas the 700MHz band good for 5G is also given to BSNL for both 4G and 5G.
However, there are fewer devices are there in the market that support 700MHz for 4G & 5G.

How to Fix BSNL 4G Issues?

- Step 1: First of all, go to your device settings
- Step 2: Click on the Internet and network search option.
- Step 3: Select the sim card whose network you are willing to fix.
- Step 4: Scroll down and find the preferred network.
- Step 5: Then Click on it.
- Step 6: Now there, you will see that the BSNL 4G network option is available.
- Step 7: An important thing to remember is that you can only change these settings if your area has BSNL 4G-enabled services.
