Highlights
- IPL 2022 auction is to be held on 12th & 13th February in Bangalore with 2 new teams for the very first time.
- Every team has given a massive amount of Rs 90 crores.
- Every team can only buy minimum 18 players and maximum 25 players.
- During the 2-day Auction, 590 total players will be auctioned off including 10 Marquee Players.
- Later on, 10 U19 world cup winning players were also included for the auction.
- Total 161 players’ names are to be auctioned on the very 1st Day of the IPL 2022 Auction.

Shocking updates on the 1st day Auction
- In Mega IPL 2022, Punjab Kings gets the first player as Shikhar Dhawan for the amount of Rs 8.25 crore.
- Shreyas Iyer was picked by KKR as the first double-digit player for a massive amount of Rs 12.25 Cr.
- The three overseas fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult sold for KKR, PBKS and RR for 7.25Cr, 9.25Cr and 8 Cr respectively.
- Whereas Deepak Chahar was again bought by Chennai Indians for a great amount of 14.00 crore rupees. Further, he became the second highest paid cricketer in this IPL 2022 Auction.
- The big names like Suresh Raina, Steven Smith went unsold.
- IPL 2022 Auctioneer, Hugh Edmeades collapses while undergoing the bid for Wanindu Hasaranga. Thankfully, he is fine and nothing to be worried about.
- Broadcaster Charu Sharma was appointed as the auctioneer for the rest of the Day1 of the auction.
- As of now, Ishan Kishan becomes the highest paid cricketer in the IPL 2020 auction with a huge amount of Rs 15.25 crore bought by Mumbai Indians.
- For the first time, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have made history by paying more than 10 Cr for any player.
- The Indian pacers duo Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna were sold to DC and RR at a whopping amount of 10.75 crore and 10 crore respectively.
- Currently, the No1 All-Rounder Mohammad Nabi in T20Is & No2 All-Rounder Shakib Al Hasan in T20Is were unsold in the auction on 1st day.
- Till now, the youngster Avesh Khan became the first and foremost most expensive uncapped player. He was bought for 10 crore by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
- The All-rounder Rahul Tewatai joined Gujarat Titans for a great amount of Rs 9 crore. By this he becomes the second highest expensive uncapped player.
- Liam Livingstone sold to Punjab Kings at Rs 11.50 crore and becomes 4th highest in the auction of IPL 2022 edition.
